I want to start this post by saying thank you to all my readers and fellow bloggers who have nominated me for “The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award” I have received four nominations and I am just speechless, thank you all!
I started my blog only last month and I was so nervous, what if nobody reads it? What if it becomes a waste of time? What if and what if! But then suddenly something sparked inside me and I just thought I should go for it anyway because if nothing else this blog could serve as a fantastic journal to look back on one day.
I was however, delightfully surprised to find myself getting visitors and subscribers on the daily. All of your comments, likes and support has made the start of 2015 one of the best ones for me. I have had over 1500 views and 800+ subscribers, I feel blessed and grateful to all of you! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I want to share a thought about the power of writing, I have recently become obsessed with writing in my journals. I have three journals I have started this year and I hope this inspires you to do the same (or even just one would be a great start). I have recently felt a great shift is starting to occur in my life and I have never felt more content with where I am, so I want to share these with you…
Journal #1 (Gratitude Journal): everyday I write down five of things that happened which I was grateful for. It has really helped me see the positive happenings in my life. You know its funny sometimes you could have the best day and with just one bad thing happening all your focus and attention goes to that one thing. My gratitude journal has since helped me to recover from focusing just on the negative and to remain grateful.
Journal #2 (Vision Journal): once a week I write about how I want to live my life, what my dreams are and what I am doing in order to get there. I know it’s not always healthy to be a dreamer but I think a vision journal helps me to organize my life goals and actually achieve them. It’s funny because after I turned 20 I realized how fast the years were flying by! With each birthday I couldn’t believe how quickly time was running and I was not getting the things I wanted done. My Vision journal is my own way of catching up with time and checking-in to see where I am and where I want to be.
Journal #3 (Emotional IQ): This is my journal to visit when I need to vent and write down my feelings. It is probably the most typical journal anyone has but I am trying to make a habit out of going back and reading my journal entries after a few days and re-evaluating the situations. I am learning a lot about myself this way, it’s not always easy but the best thing you can do for yourself and others around you is to learn who you are and what you need to work on.
My experience with my journals has been very rewarding and if I were to recommend a starting point for anyone who is new to writing things down it would be to start with a ‘Gratitude Journal’ because it is simple and it takes less than five minutes to write. I hope you all give it a try! And share your thoughts and recommendations with me.
Once again I want to thank you all for visiting my blog! XOXO ParParV
