Saying farewell to a friend is never easy but this is not a “goodbye” rather a “see you later”!
I’ve been so lucky to have met my friend May in high school, years ago. We never hangout in the same circles and it sure seemed like an unlikely friendship that started in the 10th grade but man did I luck-out or what?
May and I first met in Biology class and soon after through a mutual friend we started working on a rather entrepreneurial project together. The three of us formed a fashion accessory line called “Pravachia” and we basically handmade sequence belts which we sold at events and to our classmates. Before we knew it we sold-out of all our supplies and we had achieved success at what was a fun little side project. Through the experience we bonded and since then have had powerful and moving conversations through the various stages in our lives.
I am so proud to call this girl my friend as she is about to move to London, England to take on the next adventure in her life. She is one of the only people I have encountered who has said: “No” to being comfortable and has paved the way for many of us to do the same.
Her ambitions and goals to reform education as we know it today is utterly inspiring and I encourage you all to follow her blog at friend-abroad.com to learn more about her future ventures.
May, I love you and thank you for being the strength I need to push my goals forward, see you soon!
