As the weather gets colder you know that Flu season is right around the corner. I like to think I have a strong immune system but last year I went through one of the worst flus of my life! The doctors could not prescribe anything either, they said something about last year’s flu being an advanced version. After some research and getting advice from my amazing Asian auntie who always hooks me up with natural remedies, I began to drink a lot of tea mixed with honey, lemon and most importantly Ginger. And let me tell you guys, this was the MAGIC POTION, I mean I have tried a lot of things but nothing was as effective as this one.
Apparently “ginger” is a superfood that has all these benefits for you which I never even knew about! Not only does it help build up your immune system but also cleanses your body. Now, because ginger has a pretty strong kick to it, I like to mix in some honey to sweeten things up a little bit. I personally add a bit of lemon as well because it’s a good way to cleanse the body. I try to drink this now every morning! and I recommend that you all try it too. This is a delicious way to get prepared for flu season!

Ingredients: (For a Serving of 4)
1 -inch piece ginger root, peeled
1 large strip lemon rind
6 cups water
1/3 cup honey, eyeball it
1 lemon, juiced
4 camomile or other tea bags
1) Slice the ginger into coins.
2) Heat the ginger, lemon rind, water and honey to a boil in small pot.
3) Add lemon juice to hot water and transfer to a tea pot.
4) Add tea bags to pot and steep.
5) Remove bags and serve tea.
