Hello my amazing readers!
Happy Super Soul Sunday! I will keep things short and sweet today because I don’t want to introduce any new concept but rather remind you guys the importance of having fun and laughing a little.
Sometimes life gets busy and for many of us who are super focused on our goals it can be difficult to even find the time to go out without feeling guilty. I know that for myself, this past year has been nothing but wonderful changes and a lot of amazing opportunities, which have kept me extremely busy. But with all that said, I have learned that once in a while you have to treat yourself and have a little fun!
There is nothing more enjoyable than sharing your time (even for a few hours a week) with the company of good friends who can make you laugh!
“Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.”
~ Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D.
You know they say that “Laughter is the Best Medicine” and boy they weren’t kidding! There are actually a lot of scientifically proven benefits that come from laughter and here are just a few:
- Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
- Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
- Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
- Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
So happy Sunday once again! Please try to laugh a little today and make it a habit 😛
