Hello my amazing readers!
Today is the first Monday of October and this calls for a much needed set of goals to write down for the month. I never use to do this before especially not on a month to month bases but so many of you wonderful bloggers have inspired me to take on monthly challenges and I have found it tremendously helpful and productive.
Last month I set a fairly challenging goal for myself, which was to wakeup everyday at 5:30 am for morning workouts or to work on something productive. I promised you guys that I would let you know how it went and well it was definitely challenging.
For the most part I did wakeup at 5:30 am about three times a week for morning workouts and that was great! I actually prefer morning workouts to evening workouts more now, which was surprising to me. With that said, I did find it challenging to wakeup early on the days that I was not working out. I think part of the reason was because I was very vague about doing “something productive” so if I didn’t have a workout to look forward to I found it way more productive to sleep 😛
I learned that I need to be more detailed in planning what I am going to do in the morning so that I actually wakeup with a task at hand. I also learned that there is just no way I can wakeup that early during the weekends simply because I want to be as relaxed as possible on my days off.
As for October, I would like to break down my goals and make them more realistic for short-term success and here they are:
- Read two new books.
- Send snail mail to a few of my dearest friends out of town.
- Practice meditation once a week.
- Get in the habit of stretching throughout the workdays (I sit all day and it’s been a little tough on my back)
- At least 4 random acts of kindness for people I encounter (I’ll keep you guys posted on this!).
