Happy Monday Morning,
I hope you all had an excellent weekend. I just got back from a trip to the States and therefore back to the real life grind.
During my trip I had the chance to speak to many people who work in the the startup/ tech industry, which was exactly what I needed. You know it’s always refreshing to experience life from another persons perspective. That’s what I normally try to do when I travel, get to know what the daily life of others are.
On this particular trip I was fully immersed in the tech and startup culture, which is not as glamorous as it sounds. I was a bit shocked actually to see how some coders and engineers live; very very simply. I think that humbled me a lot, sometimes living in Vancouver (the city of the extremely wealthy) your perspective gets a little foggy as to what’s important.
Part of the reason why I love the tech and startup scene is that when you free yourself of material desires a new perspective is realized, which is often: how can we make the world a better place. It’s this very attitude that drives people to start apps or other companies. What I know for sure now is that startups are painfully difficult to work at initially and the chances of failure are 99% which is crazy because so many people take on this journey.
I have to say though, it was extremely motivating to see that despite the odds of failure the hustle was so real in the city and the hunger for success and change was the pure driving factor.
So stay hungry and keep hustling!
