Artist Spotlight: Aurora

Hello Hello!

Happy mid-week-Wednesday! It’s time to listen to some new tunes to get us all through the week. It’s been a little dark and gloomy in Vancouver this week so I’ve delved back into my soothing mystical sounds that tune into the vibe of my city. Which brings me to my weekly artist spotlight; Aurora.

I only discovered Aurora about 2 weeks ago and by total random Youtube chance (don’t you love it when that happens). My google research results of the artist were not so fruitful and the only real info I could dig up on her honestly comes from wikipedia and here it is in brief;

Aurora Aksnes is a 19 year old singer/song writer from Bergen, Norway. Her debut EP, which I love, is called “Running With The Wolves” and was released just last May and will be followed by her debut album which is set to be released in 2016.

Her voice is nothing short of magical and her vocals are other worldly. Very rarely do we come across artists who carry such uniqueness and poise all at the same time. I suggest you close your eyes while you listen to my favourite song by her called “Runaway” and allow yourself to be in tune with the sound waves of magic.

And please checkout her debut song “Running With The Wolves”

    She wrote Runaway when she was 12 and Lucky at nine. How many 12 year old girls do you know who could have done that? Blows my mind. True artist.
