This week I have a special treat for you guys, my artist spotlight of the week is a legendary pianist/composer from Iran and an extraordinary talent; Fariborz Lachini
Born August 1949 in Tehran, Mr. Lachini started his career by composing children’s music and quickly caught the attention of the Royal Family at the time. His musical talent soon took him into TV production as well as composition of great works that are still being taught and played today.
After the Iranian revolution, Mr.Lachini moved to Europe to study musicology at Universite de Paris – Sorbonne. With his European inspiration at hand and a deep understanding of the Iranian traditional music he put together one of his best compositions known as “Paeez Talaee” or “Golden Autumn”. It is one of the best sellers in Iran and a musical note that many piano students learn to play.
When I was little and learning to play the piano this was one of my go-to books as it was my fathers favorite compositions and it was a delightful sound to play. Here are some of my favorites! hope you guys enjoy:
