Paris Fashion Week: Fall/Winter 2016

Hello, my amazing readers!

Paris Fashion Week (PFW) has come to an end and I have fallen in love with fashion all over again, as I do each and every season at PFW.

From Dior to Balmain and Chanel, Paris reminded us all that fashion is a form of delicate and wearable art.

And just when I thought I was beginning to lose interest in what seemed like an elite group of “fashion critics” who attend these shows, I looked at this years runways and noticed just how many bloggers/Instagrammers have taken the front row seats at these high-end shows!! Bravo bloggers! Bravo!

Aside from the blogger invasion on PFW, there was also the notable presence of new technology mediums that brought us closer to the runways and gave us unfiltered backstage access. That’s right, I am talking about Snapchat & Periscope!

I am really new to Snapchat but I have to say; I am impressed. SnapChat and Periscope are the new mediums for complete and intimate access to any major live event.

If your snap is picked to live-stream then you become featured in the apps covered “live event” (this week’s event being PFW). The usual suspects featured are celebrities, models, backstage crew and bloggers! But it could also be the average person who just happens to catch the best footage.

The unique features of Snapchat and Periscope are that they offer as raw of a footage as you can get nowadays especially since they are live. I have to admit social media advancements made PFW all the more exciting.

The best part of the week was, of course, the Fashion Houses who gloriously delivered!! As I mentioned in my previous post about NYFW, I was disappointed with the huge emphasis on “celebrity” and it was in so many ways tacky. PFW, however, stayed holy to the art of fashion and I LOVED IT!

What we can now say for sure; the color trends for Fall/Winter 2016 are:

Black & White

Deep Red

Gold

Here are some of my favorite looks from this past week:

I’ve come a long way! Still a bit to go though. My sister despairs that I find it hard to get rid of clothes though. I get far too attached to them.

  2. I love the Giambattista Valli dress, it’s so girly and chic! Christian Dior AW16 show was so much better than the SS16 Haute Couture show, the shapes are amazing. Great picks!
