Concert Review: Aurora Aksnes in Vancouver!

Hello, my awesome readers!

Last night I had the pleasure of attending an amazing live show at the Imperial theater in Vancouver, Canada. The show was held by one of my new favorite artists, Aurora Aksnes, whom I have written about on this blog not just once but twice.

I came across Aurora’s music back in November of 2015 and since my discovery, I have become completely hooked. There is something rather magical about this beautiful girl’s vocal ability that kept me coming back to her music and when I saw the magic take place live last night, I became a fan for life.

Aurora is only 19 years old (which is just shocking!) and a norwegian godess! When she hit the stage her presence was completley angelic and her voice; otherworldly. I could not have been more impressed & taken back by her performance because I have yet to see any artist of her age be so utterly comfortable in her skin and so aware of her own artistry. 5072513.jpeg
I attended the show with one of my good friends, Nicole, who I consider an expert in music reviews and she too agreed that Aurora is a talented artist & well on her way to stardom.

I think we both left the concert a little shocked by how good Aurora was live. Often times you see and hear artists on Youtube but the live performance is just not the same. Aurora was different in that her live performance was even better because of her undeniably powerful presence. I for one most certainly hope she is heard by the masses because her genre of music and performance ability is mystical.

Great review. I’m seeing her tomorrow in Minneapolis. I can’t wait! Just curious, did she do any meet and greet with the fans?

Hey Jeff! I am excited for you to see the show, she is unbelievably sweet and you will not be disappointed, I’m sure. To be honest, she finished her set at midnight on Sunday so I didn’t stick around for a meet and greet but I am certain she would!! She genuinely is grateful for those who attend her shows- you’ll be able to tell. Let me me know how you like her show!! I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

I certainly will. It’s a rather small venue in Minneapolis (only about 200 max), so it should be pretty amazing. I, like you, immediately connected with her music, especially the lyrics. She has a very unique and genuine sound. The album is awesome and one of current favorites is “Warrior”, very powerful song. I’ll keep you updated. I’m glad to find someone as excited about her music as I am! Cheers.

Yes!!! Small venues are always my favourite it’s just so much more intimate. Her opening act in Vancouver was Tor Miller ( a Brooklyn based band), they too were very good! I suggest you go early for the opening act as well 🙂

I love the song warrior and she will perform it live in the best possible way. My favourite song from the new album is “under the water” and “I went too far”. I am sooo excited to connect with people who gravitate towards her music too!! Please keep in touch 🙂 cheers!!!

  5. Just curious if you saw her live Facebook Q&A last week? She seems very genuine. When someone told her that there were 11k people watch her reaction was pretty cool…very humbling for her.
